Maybe you have already looked at one or the other model and want to know what else is on the market. You may be hesitant because you don’t want to bet on the wrong horse. This is easy to understand, and with the following compilation of tips you will hopefully get further.
The Right Standing Desk for Every Purpose
To get straight to the point: there is no such thing as the perfect standing desk frame. Instead, the choice depends on several factors. Most important, of course, is the intended use. It makes a difference whether you use a standing desk for computer work or do general office and paperwork on it. First think about what you want to use it for and then go to the product search.
Designs
There are three types of construction:
Standing Desk with Grid Adjustment
Such a model is ideal as an addition to the desk. At times you get out of the unhealthy sitting posture and do your tasks comfortably while standing. It is ideal for a laptop. It is better not to use it for larger devices such as monitors.
One advantage is the distraction-free work. Since you really only have space for the bare essentials, there is less danger of doing things other than work. One disadvantage is the high weight of such standing desks. That is why roles are essential to move.
Standing Table with Mechanical Crank
Bar tables with crank adjustment are a great alternative to the height-adjustable desk. Manufacturers such as Stand Up Desk Store from the USA have developed visually appealing and extremely robust high tables, as you can see in the picture. They have wheels and are available in different versions with monitor mounts, offset table surfaces and more.
Laptop Table
As cheap as these laptop tables may be, I’m not a fan of them. They can withstand almost no weight and the inherently wobbly construction (the cross brace is missing) means that the whole construction begins to wobble while typing or typing. You are toying with the idea of buying such a model then choose one with a stable design and preferably with cross bracing.
Standing Desk with Integrated Shelf
High desks with shelves and drawers are a practical solution for professions in which a lot of work is done with files. Even if the work surface is not huge, they can definitely replace a normal desk. Whether the work surface is sloped or flat depends on the model and the photo shown is just an example. But you can clearly see the additional space on the area extensions on the left and right. A standing desk with a flat work surface and a solid substructure can serve as a desk replacement. A PC monitor with keyboard and office utensils such as a telephone can be placed on it if there is enough space and the desk is stable. It looks different with the laptop table. This is really only designed to hold a laptop and cannot withstand any major loads. Standing desks with integrated shelves are ideal for working with files or as a lectern. There is space for your folders on several levels.
